From Frustration to Innovation: The Birth of NO KP
For as long as I can remember, I’ve battled those relentless red bumps on my arms. It was only later in life that I discovered there was a name for this condition—keratosis pilaris (KP). KP is a harmless but frustrating skin condition where keratin, a protein that protects the skin, forms scaly plugs that block the hair follicles. While there's no cure, consistency in skincare can make a significant difference.
My journey started with countless searches online, hoping to find a solution that went beyond the basic advice of exfoliation. While shower gels and lotions with AHAs helped smooth out the bumps, they didn’t quite deliver the dramatic results I craved. Determined to find a better way, I decided to experiment with my own in-home treatment routine.
As a passionate beauty enthusiast, I’ve never shied away from trying new skincare techniques. My breakthrough came when I discovered microneedling—a method that uses tiny needles to create micro-channels in the skin, promoting regeneration and enhancing the absorption of skincare products. I began using a derma roller on my KP-affected areas, followed by AHA serums to maximize the benefits. It takes about six weeks for the skin to renew, and this sequence proved to be the most effective solution for my KP so far.
However, combining microneedling with AHA serums posed a challenge. Microneedling creates tiny wounds, and AHAs can be irritating. I needed a formula that would work harmoniously with microneedling. That’s when the idea for NO KP was born.

I wanted to create an AHA serum that not only exfoliated but also soothed and healed the skin. After extensive research and testing, I developed the NO KP Gentle Exfoliation Serum. This serum contains 10% Glycolic Acid to exfoliate, a touch of Azelaic Acid to reduce redness and irritation, and ingredients like Panthenol and Borneol to provide anti-inflammatory benefits and accelerate healing.
The results were incredible. I use the NO KP derma roller once a week and the Exfoliator Mist 2-3 times a week. Coupled with my trusty body brush and scrubs, this routine has transformed my skin. But I knew there was more to be done.
